As the mornings came around, the usual was to get our assigned work and begin. We started by walking (yet again) through slippery, unforgiving mud. When arriving to the enormous field, we set our hoes to work and began to plow up the earth so that we would be able to plant coffee plants. This was a simple task that was easy enough for our team. We then carried packs of cow dung to our coffee plant and “fertilized” it by placing it into the soil. As the day moved on we started a new task on the humongous field, this was to hoe the weeds and plants that had grown around the coffee plant. Our team became tired and silly and started to burst out singing; while all the Laotian workers stared at us and wondered what in the world we were doing.
